We are proud of the hard work and dedication of our athletes. Abstract athletes consistently achieve above and beyond their goals. We are excited to share with you the positive experiences and the impact the advanced technical training that Abstract provides has had on the careers of our athletes.
I’ve been working with Jesse and the coaches at abstract volleyball from the beginning and am proud to say that not only did they teach me the technical skills that are used at the highest level, but the mental aspect of the game and the things that are done off the court, e.g. work outs and jump training, that have helped me become the best athlete I can be. I’m so grateful to have been coached by people who have coached and played at the highest international level and inspired me to work hard and strive for big goals.

While playing for Trinity Western University, I have had the privilege of training with Jesse Knight. Uniquely, I have also had the opportunity to coach summer camps alongside him. Jesse has the ability to develop athletes at any skill level ranging from beginner to professional.
The element of his coaching that I believe to be the most outstanding is his technical training. He is able to breakdown the simple mechanics of volleyball and teach each individual according to their weaknesses.
Personally, I wish I had the opportunity to train with him much earlier in my volleyball career.
I highly recommend young athletes who desire to play high level volleyball to take advantage of his training opportunities.

"...in just two short sessions, he (Jesse) made a very positive impact on Emma's skills and her confidence. She said to me after the setting clinic: 'Mom, he made me feel like I was a really good volleyball player'.To me, that is the definition of a great coach"

"... Lilly has already attended clinics with Jesse and not only loved them but responded very well to his training and improved dramatically from them. Her older sister, Lucy, did many, many of his clinics and credits Jesse with her improvement in volleyball and her success, including making Team BC at U16, before she retired volleyball to play water polo full time. She even feels like those volleyball skills have helped her in water polo, where she has now received an NCAA scholarship to the #6 Div. 1 school in the country. We are huge Jesse fans!"

This camp is second to none! It is the second year my daughter has been to the camp and each time she comes out of it a stronger, more confident player.

We were introduced to Abstract following our daughter’s first season of club volleyball a few years ago. We had heard great things about Jesse through several other athletes that had been a part of the HP Camps and various Small Group Sessions. Our decision to give it try was the best thing we could have done for our daughter. I think what set Abstract apart for us, is that their focus is individual player development over team development. Striking a balance between these two can be very difficult at the club level. Their Small group sessions allowed my daughter to focus on specific skills, set personal goals, improve her particular challenges and really transform into the next level player. Jesse’s ability to see volleyball at such a meticulous level allowed for issues - big and small - to be identified and corrected. Equally impressive was the great atmosphere at all of these sessions. Jesse’s positive coaching style is one that is always encouraging while still challenging the players. He is able to take players out of their comfort zone, create growing confidence and push a potential they make not have seen themselves. We are truly grateful for such a fantastic volleyball experience and the genuine care and support she has felt in this training. Our daughter’s season finished with an All Star award and a D1T1 Provincial Gold - after two years of Silver! We look forward to seeing you again in the off season.
